The Challenge
After the client’s partner had a stroke, they were forced to move on a short timeline from a large four-bedroom home with a basement, garage, attic, and pool. They needed to relocate to a more manageable apartment in a senior community, but the house was full and the client hoped to sell as many items as possible to offset the costs of downsizing and cleaning out. The combination of limited time, a full household, and a major life change made the process feel overwhelming.
Does this sound like your situation?
The Approach
We started by working closely with the client to define the timeline and clarify what would move to the new apartment. From there, we created a detailed floor plan to ensure every selected piece would fit comfortably. Our team packed the home, managed and supervised the move into the senior community, and then unpacked and settled the client so the new apartment felt organized and livable right away.
Once the client was settled, we set up an in-home and online auction to sell remaining items, handled donations and disposal of anything unsold, and arranged for a full professional cleaning so the property was ready for its new owners on settlement day.
The Result
Despite the emotional and time-sensitive circumstances, the client experienced a smooth, structured transition. They moved into a right-sized home without having to manage logistics themselves, recovered value from many of their possessions through the auction, and left their former house completely emptied, cleaned, and ready for closing.
